We were due to be away this week but then heard that the CFA Presentation Dinner was on this night so we delayed our trip so that we could attend this event. The dinner was held at the Tarwin Pub which was great because we didn't have far to travel. Our daughter came down for the weekend with her two boys to join us on this special night. It was indeed a very special night because our son was awarded his ten years service badge with the brigade and Robb my husband was presented with his 25 years service badge and also the National Medal for his services to the community through his participation in the CFA. We had good night catching up with friends in the community and meeting new members of the brigade. We also had the pleasure of spending some time with Emma the Commander of District 9 of the CFA that encompasses Tarwin, such an interesting person who has served overseas in different capacities and shared information of her experiences with us. Mostly though I was just very proud of my husband who has always been willing to jump on the fire truck at a callout, it didn't matter what time of day or night, or what was happening at the time. I can remember one News Years Eve when we had a function at our house and Robb disappeared for a couple of hours with a call out. The CFA plays such an important role in small communities.
