Luckily I saw an ad for this event because it is one festival in the area we have always loved. Mirboo North Italian Fest was on last weekend but we didn't see any advertising for it so unfortunately we missed it. It is so easy to advertise on Face Book so I am surprised we didn't see anything about this event coming up. Anyway we headed off to Meeniyan with a plan to find a coffee truck there and sit to enjoy this before moving on. The first coffee truck was having problems with their machine but they directed us to another one around the corner which you could imagine was very busy. We waited for probably 20 mins for our coffee but I had sent Robb off to find us a seat in front of the main stage where the music was pretty good while I waited for our order. While waiting in line I struck up a conversation with the man beside me who lives in Meeniyan and he introduced me to the organiser of the event, David, and we had a lovely conversation about how the event came about and their hopes for the future. When I finally picked up our coffees I walked around to find Robb and found he was sitting next to the first man I was talking to so after an initial giggle at this we continued our conversation. After our coffee we wandered up and down the roads visiting the various outlets, we bought garlic to plant before we go away, some cheese from Berrys Creek Gourmet Cheese (we have always loved their Tarwin Blue but tried and purchased an Oak Blue that we quite liked). We called into the St. Fiacres outlet to say hello to the lovely Maria who we had worked with in the past and then before leaving we bought calamari and chips for our lunch and then paella from Melbourne Paella Company for our dinner that night. It was an enjoyable day and we would certainly visit here again this year.
