We left Mansfield to drive to Echuca which our GPS said was approximately two and a half hours away. We had a good run and arrived in plenty of time but then spent about an hour searching out the best park to stay at, both parks are a bit out of town but we finally settled on Rich River Tourist Park which we both felt more comfortable with. The office attendant spent a bit of time with us until we finally found a site that we thought would work for us. We had been tossing up whether to stay for three or four nights but we liked the site we had been given so booked in for four nights. We are pretty efficient at setting up now so it probably takes us half an hour to get organised. Because it was close to 1.30pm I prepared lunch for us and then we drove down to the town centre to pick up a couple of items we needed from Aldi and to pick up information from the Info Centre. We managed Aldi ok but there were road works going on and it was difficult to access the Information Centre so we thought we would see if there was something we could pick up a the park office to get us through until we could visit the centre. We then returned to the van where I needed to do washing and prepare dinner, we were having silverside and white sauce and I wanted to get everything ready just to go on the stove when the time came. I hung the washing out and prepared dinner and then had a shower and washed my hair.

We have a niece in Echuca we haven't seen for a long time and we wanted to catch up with her so I sent her a message via messenger on FB and had a bit of to and froing with her to try to organise a time, in the end she said she would get back to us tomorrow. In the meantime Robb checked in on FB and we heard from Robb's best man to say he was only 40 minutes away and we spent a bit of time trying to find a convenient time to catch up. By the time I went to bed we didn't have anything definite in place but knew that we were going to catch up at some time. The next morning we dressed and then Robb phoned Allan and organised to meet at their house in Cohuna at 11.00am. We drove down to McDonalds and picked up a coffee for our trip and then visited the Information Centre to pick up brochures and a list of what is open. We then drove to Cohuna and spent a few hours catching up on 40 years of news, it was an excellent catch up and true what they say that you don't need to see friends all the time just to be able to pick up the old relationship. We were later than we thought when we returned and it was raining steadily so we decided just to have biscuits and cheese for a late lunch as we were having a roast for dinner. We had a lamb roast and Robb made his duck fat potatoes, a very satisfying dinner.

We heard from our niece overnight and finally organised to catch up for a drink at one of the local pub at 5.30pm. In the morning we drove down to The Odd Captain for a coffee and had a bit of a read, after that we walked around the Port of Echuca and and called into the Discovery Centre and they gave us information on the M.V. Mary Ann which I booked for a lunch cruise when I returned to our van for lunch tomorrow. In the afternoon we drove to Kyabram for a bit of a look around, there wasn't much to see so we weren't that late returning to our van. We spent a bit of time catching up with photos etc and then drove down to the Pastoral Hotel in the afternoon for our catch up with our neice. It was an excellent catch up I think I can confidently say for all of us, so three drinks later we thought we had had enough and we returned to the van with many promises to return next year.

The next day we were up and drove down to Johnny and Lyles's for a coffee and Robb had some fruit toast. Service great, coffee was brewed to our requirements and the service was really good. After lunch we drove to a couple of shops in town before checking into our lunch cruise on the M.V. Mary Ann. We were given a table and sat waiting for our order to be taken. Robb chose the Eggs Benny and I chose the Korean Burger, both meals were good and we thought the whole thing was good value. When we returned to port we had a bit of a look around the discovery centre, where there is a display out the back before returning to our van. We are moving on tomorrow so we packed up what we could today and then I prepared dinner while Robb had a bit of a read outside.
