We just snuck this one in before restrictions toughened up again so we are now even more appreciative of having this family time. Now we have another 4 weeks to wait for any further celebrations but happy to do this if it keeps our Covid-19 numbers down. But just to focus more on the positives than the negatives we had a great family weekend. Grace is our oldest grandchild and our oldest son is her father. We have three children and our middle child Matthew came down to stay with us with his beautiful family so they could attend the celebration. Unfortunately our daughter was unable to attend because of prior commitments. Grace was having a family lunch on the Saturday with both sides of her family, she had a much more enjoyable night on the Friday night with her friends but we can be fun too and it was a lovely day. Friday night was fairly uneventful at home and a pretty early night for all of us. Saturday we were up and bushy tailed ready for the celebrations, our younger grandchildren were especially excited to catch up with their older cousins. We arrived for lunch around 12.00pm and by that time every one else was there so it was good to catch up because we hadn't seen Gracie's other grandparents and aunties for awhile now. Grace and Jenna have their horses at home now so Annabelle and Edie were keen to have a short ride before lunch and while Charlie the horse was a bit our of sorts it all went well. Lunch was party food which I love and obviously so did everyone else because we managed to clear out quite a bit. Then it was time for the cake and Grace had chosen a mint mudcake from The Cheesecake Factory which went down well with all the sweet tooths. I had some of the cheesecake because I am not much of a sweet eater. We arrived home around 3.00pm all a bit tired out and appreciated having a bit of a rest before preparing dinner.
