Tocumwal - Apex Beach - 4-8 June 2020

We have had an easing of restrictions through Covid-19 and we are allowed to go camping as long as we are self contained and we can have groups of 20 people. We have been looking forward to getting away, we should have been in Hawaii and then moving onto the States but of course all that is out of the question at the moment and probably for the next few years so when we had an opportunity to get away for a weekend we jumped at it as obviously a lot of people did by the numbers around while we were there. We met up with our son and his family and organised to meet in Tocumwal, we had our other two grandsons with us so that they could have family time with their cousins. We met at Apex Beach in Tocumwal and after much deliberation chose the spots we want to set up. We also had another couple who are friends of our son and daughter-in-law joining us the next day so we considered them when choosing our spot. We camped on the beach in an area where the sand was still quite hard and we spent the next couple of hours getting set up while the children played around the beach. We had some great sunny days while we were there and most days the children could go swimming but the mornings were freezing, note to us to get a diesel heater for the van. Connor and Ollie were sleeping in a swag beside our van but they seemed to be warm enough. We had a great time with all the children busy playing together, we had good fires each night and good company. I had a bit of a fall one night and hurt my coccyx which is still causing me issues and one of our granddaughters had a cold which we all seemed to catch but it was all worth it. Great memories created in a few days.
