Healesville Sanctuary - 18 March 2020

We arrived late in the afternoon of the 17 March 2020 in Healesville so thought we would grab a quick pie at the bakery for a late lunch. The pies aren't cheap but seem to be a bit bigger than normal the pastry was fresh and the pies were full of meat and as we had potato pies there was lots of potato on top. The venue was very clean and the service was excellent. We also bought an apple turnover to take home and this was probably the biggest apple turnover we had ever seen and joy of joys the cream was fresh. All up a great experience. We returned for coffee the next morning and once again we were very pleased.

We visited the Healesville Sanctuary today when all the restrictions for Corona Virus 19 have been put in place. When we purchased our tickets we were told a lot of exhibits were closed in line with the current restrictions and asked if we still wanted to visit. I admire the work they do here so it was a simple decision, if we don't get to see all the exhibits we would like to, they can still use our money to advance their work. It wasn't that bad walking around the various enclosures, I think the animals all knew to hide away but it is such a lovely area just to walk around so we still had a good time. When we did come across a zoo worker they were more than happy to strike up a conversation with us. All up a good morning.
