Nomading - Bright - 10 March 2020

Time goes quickly and only two full days in Porepunkah to have a look around, such a beautiful area that you could visit regularly and still enjoy your time. We were up late today, who doesn't love a lazy day, and left here about 10.00 am in search of a coffee. We drove into Porepunkah but there was only one coffee shop open and there were a lot of bike riders there so we thought it might be best to drive to Mt Buffalo Chalet and grab a coffee there. Unfortunately the cafe at Mt. Buffalo is no long operating. We had a look around this beautiful area, of course the views are magnificent looking over to the Victorian Alpine area, I took lots of photos. We were both very impressed with the number of bike riders pushing their way up the mountain to the peak but thankful we were in our car. Driving back down to Porepunkah and Bright we noticed a sign to Dingo Dell with a food sign on it that was only 3 kms away so took that turn off, we were desperate for a coffee by this time. We arrived at our destination, parked and walked into the cafe which didn't look much at first glance but we were desperate by this time. The owner was sitting at a table playing with his phone but jumped up when we walked up to the counter. We ordered our two coffees in take away cups in case we decided not to stay. As it turned out we had a great stop, the coffee was good and we had a good chat to the owner, as we were the only ones there, as it happened he was a fervent skier and knew people that we knew from Mt. Hotham and he also knew the area we come from. I would have to recommend you take the time to visit here.

We drove back down the mountain stopping for photos at Eurobin Falls and a few other photographic spots and drove back to our van for lunch. I had a few things to do today so we spent a couple of hours at the van before driving to Bright Brewery for a quiet drink. We decided to visit here to finish up our time in Bright. We arrived in early afternoon to do a taste test. Robb

usually likes a Pale Ale and I like a Lager. The person helping us behind the bar gave us lots of guidance after listening to our preferences and after many samples we made our choice. We both enjoyed our beers and it was lovely sitting outside overlooking the park. On leaving we expressed our thanks for good service and we were asked if we would like our photo taken together, and of course we don't often get this opportunity so we said yes and now we have a couple of lovely photos to remind us of our time here. Good beers, good service and prices ok.
