Meeniyan Garlic Festival - 15 February 2020

Another great festival in our local area and once again well supported regardless of the overcast weather conditions. These local festivals are a wonderful opportunity for local food and drink producers to showcase their goods and crikey do we sure have some great local producers within this region. Once again we came home with heaps of goodies including garlic salt, cheeses, sauces and prepared meals. We tried a couple of local wines, Rose mainly because it seems to be the wine of the moment and also a pale ale from Grand Ridge Brewery. The cheese we brought home was from Berry Creek cheeses, a couple of blues our personal favourite, we picked up three garlic salts that go well on everything you cook and the sauces were from St. Fiacre's farm who have a fantastic range of relishes and sauces, their capsicum relishes being a personal favourite of mine. Lunch today was gyros from a Greek food truck and dinner tonight will also be provided by some of the food trucks at the festival, we like variety in our lives so we have a couple of calamari cones and some Thai food. It is such a lot of work to organise these festivals so we do appreciate the effort of the local communities to set up these events. A great day and we will return next year.
