We visited here with friends for a day out, we picked them up and we all drove down together. The Nobbies was our first stop because our friends hadn't been here for quite a few years and we thought they might like to see the changes that have been made since they were last there. The day was overcast but there wasn't any wind so it was quite pleasant walking along the boardwalk, we did the round trip below the Nobbies Centre area and then went to have a quick look in the centre. We didn't look through 'Antarctic Journey' we had taken the boys through about 12 months back and our friends were going to return with their two granddaughters at a later date. Back in the car and heading back home we did a quick stop off at the Penguin Parade Centre which is just down the road. The centre had changed since we were last there with a very smart looking new building which looks to be about twice the size of the original building. The centre had been completed earlier than expected so they hadn't finished setting up the displays but we had a look at what was there and then took a walk outside. We must return one time to see the penguins and hopefully the centre is finished by then. The walk outside was very pleasant and we walked down to the outside seating and then sat and contemplated the scenery for awhile before returning to our car. It is obviously breeding season because we came across beautiful little Cape Barron Geese and Water Hen chicks wherever we went. It was getting later so we headed back to San Remo Hotel where we had planned to have lunch, we found a table by the window and settled in to study the menus. We all had the Seniors Fish and Chips, the fish was good and the meals were a generous size. We had Sauvignon Blanc with our meals and we all chose the large glass which did us for the time we were there. There was table service which we appreciated and the waitress was friendly and helpful, we thought the meal was good value and would certainly return here at some time.
