We decided today would be beach day, not spectacular weather for this sort of activity, however, we did have the pleasure of the sun coming out from time to time. It didn't worry the boys at all they spent their time digging a huge hole and throwing buckets of water at each other. Unfortunately Nana forgot to take towels with us so by the time we were ready to go home the boys had to strip off and climb into the car and we drove home with the heater on hoping to warm them up. What I did learn though is that if you sit at the beach keeping an eye on children people want to talk to you, so my first encounter was with a lovely lady living in Inverloch for the past 11 years, I heard most of her story and spent a good twenty minutes sharing grandchildren stories between us before she had to leave. On leaving she introduced herself, "anyway I am Lorraine", what a coincidence. She had only just vacated her seat when I was joined by an Italian gentleman spending time on the beach with his family. He was down here on holiday and was driving home to Sydney tomorrow, his wife came to join us and I found out they were staying with their daughter who had a vineyard outside Leongatha, he kept stressing how much excess wine they had, that piqued my interest but unfortunately I didn't get an address. I just love that interaction with people you haven't met before and learning their stories, it certainly filled in a good two hours for me.
