We were leaving Streaky Bay today to drive onto Ceduna but there were a couple of places for us to visit before we moved on. The first track we took was the Cape Bauer Loop outside Streaky Bay and our idea was to visit the Whistling Rocks and Blowhole where we parked and started walking along the very well marked path, as we walked further on we could see it was a little bit of a walk down to the blowhole but the boardwalks have been well thought out to allow most people to walk down there. When I arrived at the bottom of the track I walked down to the right hand side lookout first thinking the left hand would be the best outlook but as it turned out the right hand side lookout was absolutely stunning. I then walked over to the left hand lookout and as I got closer the noise from the blowholes was quite deafening and dramatic. You couldn't help but be impressed with this stop and even though it was quite a climb back to the top it was well worth doing.
We made one more stop on our way to Ceduna in Smokey Bay to have lunch. There is a great jetty here and we found a lovely little spot just off the jetty to park for an hour or so and then we were back on our way.
We called into the Visitor Information Centre when we first entered Ceduna just to check the caravan park availability and check on points of interest for our stay. The lady at the centre would fall into the category of 'I will only do as much as I need to be pleasant', the first one we have encountered on our travels but we got the information we needed to no need to go back. There are five caravan parks in Ceduna but we chose the Foreshore Caravan Park because of the reviews on Trip Advisor and we have to agree with all the reviews. This is one of the best parks we have ever stayed at. The staff at the office were wonderful and friendly, we couldn't get a drive through site but the one they gave us was very easy to back into. We are close to the amenities which are amazing. We haven't cooked at the camp kitchen but we have visited and it is once again amazing. We have views over the bay, the park is well maintained and the rates were good. A lot of the people in the park have driven over the Nullabor and we can only imagine the joy they feel to come to this park.
We are here for a bit of a rest before driving home so we are going to catch up on jobs we need to do and not too much pressure to have a look around.
