Today was our day to look around Port Lincoln so after stopping at Del Giorno for our coffee first thing and a bit of a read we followed the map we had been given at the Visitor Information Centre to find Winter Hill Lookout for these great views over Port Lincoln. We weren't disappointed and tried to get as many photos as we could before the wind and cold wore us down. Spectacular views that let you see the outline of the coast around this beautiful area.
When you are in Port Lincoln you need to eat seafood being the seafood capital of the Southern Hemisphere. We are a bit partial to seafood so made it a point to visit The Fresh Fish Place was on our agenda to have a bit of a look, we were interested in purchasing fresh seafood and also staying for lunch. They have a beautiful display of fresh fish and even if you don't purchase it is so pretty to look at. We picked up a menu and then found a table, the cafe was very busy but we tucked ourselves away and perused the offerings. Robb chose the King George Whiting and Chips and I chose the Flathead and chips. The batter on both of the fish pieces was light and leaned a little bit towards a tempura, the chips actually had potato in them and were quite fat. You can also have salad with these dishes and we liked the fact that the menu gives you the opportunity to build your meal as you like. The service was very friendly and our meals were delivered to our table. We loved the way that the staff were chatting and laughing with each other which indicates a good work environment and the prices were good. We both loved our meals and on the way out Robb purchased a dozen oysters for dinner tonight, full marks to this outlet we would both highly recommend visiting here.
On or way back to our van we called into a couple of shops to pick up items we needed. You will find everything in Port Lincoln that you need so we are happy that we have stocked up and when we came back we did a couple of jobs we wanted to do and planned our next few days.
