Cape Jervis and The Anchorage Hotel Victor Harbour For Lunch

We started our day with a trip down to Cape Jervis on the bottom of the Fleurieu Peninsula, this is where the ferry leaves to take you to Kangaroo Island and we were interested to see it because I had this idea about going to Kangaroo Island for my 70 birthday next year and renting somewhere big enough for all the family. There isn't a lot to see at Cape Jervis, however the trip down there from Victor Harbour is quite spectacular and this made the journey worthwhile. Anyway while we were down there we picked up quite a bit of information about Kangaroo Island that will be helpful when making a decision as to whether it is a viable idea or not.

We were on a bit of a schedule because we had friends that lived 30 minutes from Victor Harbor that we hadn't seen for 16 years and while we were here we organised to catch up with them and we were meeting at 12.00 noon for lunch at The Anchorage Hotel. They chose the venue because they had eaten here before and had a good meal. We had a variety of meals, steak, fish and chips and vegetable curry, the steak and fish meals were excellent but the vegetable curry lacked a bit of oomph and substance, it was served with rice and maybe it may have been more substantial if the rice was replaced with naan bread. Pricing was good and we had a sauvignon blanc with our meals which was pleasant. Service was very good and the pricing was what you would expect. It is a beautiful building and there is seating inside and out, it was a beautiful day today so we chose to sit outside. We had a great time, and once again the years fell away and it was like we had seen each other yesterday, we had lots of laughs and heaps of news to catch up on, it is always good to reacquaint yourselves with old friends.
