Wonthaggi Theatrical Group was once again putting on a performance of Les Miserables. This will be the second time I have attended this show, the first one was excellent so I was easily encouraged back. We were joining Daniel, Sue, Grace and Jenna and meeting at the Wonthaggi Workmen's Club for dinner beforehand. We chose this club because it is over the road from the theatre and we had a group of 6 people and it was easy to book a table. We had four adults and two teenagers and we found the menu suited us all, we managed to find a dish to suit everyone. There were quite a few people there going onto the theatre so they were quite busy but they managed the numbers well. We all ordered very different meals and we were mostly happy with our choices, the only disappointment we had was with the fish and chips. The prices were reasonable and the service was excellent and we managed to have time to eat our meals in leisure before leaving for the theatre.
I cannot say enough about the show which was just an excellent production, if you haven't already booked tickets I would highly recommend you did. We thought the tickets were a reasonable price, and we love this venue for a live production, it was easy to find our seats but there were enough people positioned around the theatre if you did need a little help. This is a long show but we didn't notice that so much and didn't want it to end. The acting and singing were excellent, I can't believe we have so many talented people in our regional towns and a special mention for all the young people in the show, particularly all those classically trained, where do they come from. I have to make a few special mentions of my favourites on the night but would like to stress this doesn't take away from all the other excellent performances. So Tom Green, Andrew (Zac) McIntosh, Alliza Miel, Jay Nelson, Kerryn Lockhart, Corey Green, Tom Baker (beautiful voice), Tyler Jenkins, and Max Duff who always puts in 100%.
