We visited the Big Strawberry last time we were in Cobram but thought we would go back to see any changes. It is a huge shed that I felt looked a bit bare last time but I thought there were more displays this time and more products on offer. Once again we ordered a strawberry thick shake each and once again we were pleased with the flavour. Their strawberry ice cream is made from real strawberries and you can really taste it. There is a good range of snacks available and it seems to be a popular call in place for locals.
This is our last night in Cobram so instead of cooking we thought we would go out for dinner. There isn't much open in Cobram on Monday nights so our choices were the hotels. We chose Cobram hotel because of the reviews on Trip Adviser but it didn't work out too well for us. We both chose the porterhouse steak, it is my preferred steak, and we both chose medium rare as we normally do. This was a huge piece of meat but I was happy to leave what I couldn't eat which as it turned out was just as well. My steak was cooked ok but Robb's came out rare, the fat wasn't rendered on either steak and the outside was stewed rather than seared. It wasn't a cheap meal but we ate what we could and left the rest, the chips and sauces were good and the salad was pleasant. We were there early for dinner so we decided the cooking plates hadn't been heated appropriately for cooking steaks.
