This was a musical held at The Wonthaggi Theatre which was produced and performed by the Newhaven students in collaboration with the Wonthaggi Theatre Group. Robb, Daniel and I went together. Before the show we met up with members of the cast of Daniel’s upcoming production “Young Frankenstein” at the Dumpling Plaza in Wonthaggi for dinner. We were on a table of 20 which we had reserved, the food was good but some of the meals didn’t arrive in time before we had to leave for the theatre. We left the car where it was parked and walked around to the theatre where we had a quick chat to friends of Daniel’s before going in to find our seats. We were in the very front row which has never happened before but I quite liked it. The show was brilliant, who would have thought that a group of school kids could put on such a good production, we enjoyed it more than some of the professional Melbourne shows we have been to. We will have to go to the next one they have on and we all would highly recommend Barnum to everyone. All performances were fantastic but a few standouts for us were – Johah van Stekelenburg as Barnum, Allanah Coghlan as Charity and Max Duff as Tom Thumb.
