Driving Home and The Blue Bee Cafe Bruthen

We had packed up as much as we could the day before so it was just the last minute items we needed to take care of and then we were on our way. We had debated which way to go because there were a few steep ascents heading into Merimbula and at one time on the way in we had struggled with the hills but we decided to drive to Merimbula and being prepared for the hills made all the difference. We managed to find a park on the harbour front and walked to McDonalds for a coffee for the trip and then we were back in the car on our way. We had a couple of ideas about stopping over to break the trip up and we had found that a few of the caravan parks were full up with Easter traffic so we decided to stop at Rosedale in the free camp to break our drive. We drove as far as Bruthen and then we parked in the main street and we were heading to the bakery when Robb saw all day breakfasts in the Blue Bee cafe next door so we opted to eat here. The first thing that struck us was the excellent service, we were greeted the minute we walked into the door and told someone would be with us soon, we said we were still looking and that was fine and they came back to us every now and again to see if we were ready to order. The meals we ordered were going to take a bit longer than normal because they were really busy, they alerted us to that but we chose to wait. Some one came out every few minutes to give us an update on when our meals were ready, they apologised for the wait which wasn't really too long and then when the food did come it was well presented and really yummy. I can't believe my bacon was cooked as I like it and the eggs were on real toast not that wanky ciabatta that you can't cut. The staff checked with us that everything was ok and on top of all this our meals were really reasonably priced. Certainly will be somewhere we return to. We decided over lunch to drive straight home as we thought by the time we arrived at Rosedale there would only be another hour and a half to go, so we continued on and when we arrived in Mirboo North we stopped for a hot chocolate at the chocolate shop which is our favourite hot chocolate, the girl who served us also gave us so muffin cuts which we appreciated and we ate on the way. When we arrived home we decided to plug the van in and leave the unpacking for the next day. We finished off the chinese for dinner and we weren't long out of bed but it was a great holiday with family.
