Wildlife Around Camp

One of the highlights of our stay at Hobart Beach Campground was the number of wildlife visitors we had to our camp. We had kangaroos, joeys, wallabies, goannas, birds, lizards and possums. All of them came looking for food scraps so we had to be extra vigilant about packing our food and rubbish away at night. The possums were the worst, they were everywhere and constant and very good at finding their way into containers, we even heard one trying to open the portable fridge/freezer one night, just flicking the latches. It wasn't too bad for us in the van but more of a nuisance for Matt and Lyndal with the tent. We also had them running along the roof of the van at night trying to find a way in which meant we had to leave all vents closed just in case.
