Travelling back from Bega Cheese Heritage Centre we decided to drive on and visit Tathra for lunch. We first drove up to the upper part of Tathra past the hotel thinking we might have had lunch there but then decided we would drive down to the lower beach area and buy something to eat on the beach while the children had a play on the sand. Robb and I fancied bakery food while the others headed to the fish and chip shop. I bought a chicken pie and Robb bought a sausage roll and apple turnover with cream and we bought a drink to share. My pie was cold which is a real no-no for me, you have to have a hot pie and Robb's sausage roll and apple turnover were good. However the service was atrocious, I always make an extra effort when staff are miserable and can usually succeed in getting a better reaction but not this time, I was a tourist so obviously didn't deserve the time of day. Funny but we walked over to catch up with the rest of our family at the fish and chip shop and the man serving them seemed equally miserable. Obviously living in this beautiful part of the world does nothing for your attitude. We sat and ate our lunch and o course the sea gulls were everywhere, Matthew asked Edie to run down the beach carrying a chip above her head and the sea gulls went crazy, Edie loved it and then we couldn't stop her, it was very funny. After lunch we drove up to the wharf to have a look around and decided to come back one day to do some fishing from here because it was into deep water.
