Bega Cheese Heritage Centre

We were camping in the Bournda National Park about 14Kms from Bega and both sets of grandparents wanted to visit the cheese centre. We arrived first and ordered a coffee while waiting for the others to turn up and I visited the information centre which is based in the Bega Heritage Centre to pick up information for our holiday. Everybody else arrived at the same time as the coffee so they went to order their drinks. I didn't think the coffee was too bad but Robb wasn't very impressed at all. When the others received their order they were disappointed with the milk shakes and the ice creams the girls ordered were a very small scoop and not very tasty. We did think that a company that made milk products would have had these items down pat. The service was also a bit begrudging and while they had a great supply of cheeses in the display cabinet the ones offered for tasting were all their own block cheeses. On the plus side the Heritage centre upstairs was small but interesting both of the gift shops, the one upstairs and the one downstairs were well stocked but of course prices were on the high side, the thing about this is it doesn't matter if you have had a good experience but it does if you haven't. The best part for me was that the Visitor Information Centre was located on the ground floor of the building and the lady on duty here was very pleasant and helpful.
