Hobart Beach Campground - Bournda National Park - With Matthew Lyndal and Children - 7-18 April 2019

Lyndal and I had planned this camping trip in the middle of last year because when she had asked Annabelle her daughter what she wanted to do for her birthday her reply had been to go camping, Lyndal had a desire to go to Merimbula and Robb and I had been talking about it too so we looked for somewhere in the area for a bit of bush camping and came across Hobart Beach. The campground had decent looking toilets and showers and it was reasonably priced so we chose dates to work in with Annabelle and Eden's birthday, which is a week later, and booked the sites. Karen and John, Lyndal's parents, booked a site later on and managed to get one beside ours but unfortunately separated by a grove of trees but it worked out well anyway. As it turned out the campground was half way between Merimbula and Bega and not far from Tathra so it was perfect for visiting beaches and accessing shops. We had originally booked from the 6 April because Annabelle's birthday is the 7 April but because of another commitment we arrived on the 7 April and they had been waiting for us to arrive to sing Happy Birthday to Annabelle. We arrived mid afternoon, set up which didn't take long and then joined the rest of the family around the cake. We had a good drive up stopping at Orbost at Rosie's Hot bake for lunch, highly recommended, and at Cann River for fuel. It is such beautiful country and everybody on the road was well behaved that we both enjoyed travelling

although we were quite tired having set off at 7.00am.
