This building was definitely on my must visit list and I was not disappointed. I had read a bit about the history before going so was very excited to see how the structure came together. My husband and friends didn't know anything about it so it was interesting to see their appreciation. I was struck by the beauty of the building in all areas and was fascinated walking from the mostly Mosque structure and all of a sudden you are in the cathedral. I must admit though I thought the areas might have been more clearly defined but I could see the Christian influence in the Mosque area and the Muslim influence in the Christian area. I wouldn't hesitate to return here even though we spent quite a long time looking around I still feel like there is more to see. I am not sure how much we paid to go through but I didn't care at the time anyway, whatever it is well worth it. We didn't have to wait long to go through either and a walk around the inside square is worth some time. La Mezquita has had quite an interesting history and I gather seen a bit of conflict but it occurred to me in light of what has just happened in Christchurch that we haven't learnt much in the last 1100 years.
