We caught a bus in from Chinchon and then hailed a taxi to drive us to the Prado. We had two reasons for this, firstly we wanted to look around the museum and secondly we wanted to catch the Hop on Hop off bus. We were dropped out the side of the Prado and walked around to the front entrance. There was already a long line up of people waiting for entry but we thought it would only be worse as the day went on so we jumped on the end of the line and waited. I would recommend anyone visiting the Prado buy a skip the line ticket but if you haven't, get there early. The wait wasn't too long and then we were passed onto security because we had a back pack, we were given a key for a locker to store our bags and my camera before proceeding through the museum. We were both fascinated with this beautiful building, my husband had visited here 20 odd years ago but hadn't had a lot of time to look around, not that we did today either. We had about an hour so we made a plan to maximise our time and then took off, we didn't spend too long at any particular painting but we did manage to see quite a bit of artwork. I particularly liked how there were several examples of individual artists work in the one room, we are not great art followers but we did find a few examples of work that we both appreciated. The rooms are well set out, there is staff on hand if you have enquiries we thought the entry price was reasonable, we had seniors rates, and if we return we will allow a bit more time for a more intensive look around.
