Aranjuez - Madrid, Spain

We visited Aranjuez on the recommendation of a couple we met in Chinchon so we had to squeeze the visit in one afternoon and didn't have a lot of time to look around. The closest car park we could find was a ten minute walk away from where we had to buy our tickets but we eventually found the office and went in and booked. We had another 10 minute walk to the train and as we hadn't had lunch yet we visited a lovely little cafe on the water and had a quick bite and then went in search of the train. It wasn't hard to find our way because everybody knew of the train and were pleased to give us directions. It was a very scenic walk through parkland and we had a bit of a look around the Aranjuez Castle while we walked, I would have loved to have gone through the castle but time was so limited and I had learnt by now that we couldn't see everything I wanted to. We eventually came across the spot where we had to line up for the train and found our seats, this was a brilliant way to see around Aranjuez with our limited time and we came away feeling we had a good look around. Part of our trip took us through the Aranjuez Park which was a beautiful botanic garden on the edge of town, the gardens were quite extensive and there is no way we could have seen around the whole area if not for the little train. The tour staff

were fantastic as were the girls where we purchased the tickets, the tour was reasonably priced and a good activity for all ages.
