We started our visit of the old centre of Arles with a tour of the Cryptoporticus, the underground tunnels leading to the Forum. We wandered over to the church in the square and passed this lovely old organ grinder so we stood there listening to the music for a while and then walked down to the old centre itself. We purchased a three attraction ticket and as it was closest to the office we walked to and around the old Roman theatre, taking a seat in the stalls and then performing on stage. We then visited the Forum or Ampitheatre and were highly impressed, we had visited the Colosseum while in Rome and I think the only difference with this structure was one story. We spent a bit of time here wandering the underground tunnels and rooms and viewing all the artifacts on display. After here we went to view the old Roman baths but unfortunately we weren't able to go inside. There are lots of lovely little cafes in the old town, you won't have a problem having a meal or stopping for a drink. We finished our visit to the old town by walking back to the new town and wandering the beautiful gardens. When in Arles make sure you take time to visit the old centre you won't be sorry.
