We arrived fairly early in Chateauponsac and had trouble finding something open until we came across this gorgeous little cake shop. We managed to get a good coffee when we explained what we wanted, there was a great range of delicious cakes and we were pleased with the fantastic service. Once again this cafe was run by an English lady and it was fairly quiet when we were there so we managed to have a good chat while being served. Chateauponsac is a very pretty village and we stopped at a few places to take photos when driving through after leaving the cafe. The day before we had tried to find Lac Saint Pardoux without any luck so we enquired about directions while we were at the cafe. As it turned out the lake had been emptied to be cleaned but we thought we would have a look anyway so we took the directions we were given and eventually we came across the lake. It was indeed empty but it must be quite magnificent when it is full.
