When we left Paris we took a train down to Limoges in Western France and then picked up a car and drove to our accommodation in Dompierre les Eglises. Our accommodation was a Gites (chalet) owned by a friend of ours that was regularly rented out and we were lucky enough to secure this for a week through the busy holiday period. Situated in a tiny French village that is as scenic as you could imagine, this was a bit of a dream come true. There weren't many shops in Dompierre so we had to drive to Magnac Laval for our shopping and a half decent coffee. Magnac Laval is a larger town ten minutes away where there is a supermarket and a mixture of small shops and cafes. We found a lovely little coffee shop that was run by an English woman where we would pick up our morning coffee when travelling around the area.
