The Montmartre District is a large hill in Paris with a very historic background. Today it is known for it's Bohemian culture and it' great entertainment venues. Paris is a very vibrant city but Montmartre is vibrant in overdrive, it has a very special feel to it and it never stops. Of interest in this district is the Basilica of Sacre Coeur, Moulin Rouge and the furnicular railway to name a few. Montmartre was also an area where some of the most popular artists gathered and worked.
