We had an afternoon flight from Bologna in Italy to Paris in France and we were picked up at the airport by our driver and driven to our hotel. We stayed at the Timhotel Tour Eiffel which turned out to have the smallest rooms we had ever seen, they were so small we had to move our case every time we wanted to open the door. Not only was the room small but the elevator would only accommodate one person and a case each time so it took us four trips to get everything up to our rooms. The plus was that there was a lovely dining room and outside garden area where we had breakfast or we could spend an afternoon for a quiet drink, the staff were absolutely amazing and the position of the hotel was brilliant, only 600mts from the Eiffel Tower. We arrived in Paris late afternoon after being held up in traffic from the airport, which we really didn't mind because it gave us a chance to have a look around on our way to our accommodation. After we all settled in we met downstairs and went for a walk to have a look at the local area and look
for somewhere for dinner. We found a great little bistro called Bistrot Dupleix where we could get a table and the menu looked good so we decided to stop here. We were staying around the corner from this bistrot so we hadn't walked far and we were just looking for a quick dinner because we were all tired and thought we would have an early night. We were greeted by our waiter asking if we wanted a beer, turned out he was an Aussie and picked us straight away. After delivering our drinks he stayed and had a quick chat with us, wait staff making that extra effort can make a huge difference to your eating experience. We had just arrived from Italy and had been eating a lot of pasta and pizza and we all wanted meat so we all ordered steak. All our meals were well cooked and presented and because of the great ambiance and friendly staff what was intended as a quick bit ended up being a great 2 hour experience.
