We caught the train into Milan and our first impression of this beautiful city was the Milan Station, not your ordinary station as you will see from the photos. We walked out of the station and over to the ticket box for the Hop on Hop off bus, we thought we would take a quick trip around and then decide what we wanted to stop and see. On our route around the city we saw this magnificent structure as we turned a
corner, we weren't sure at that stage what is was so we hopped off to have a better look. It turned out to be the Duomo di Milano one of the main churches in Milan. The building is stunning from the outside, we were sorry we didn't get a chance to go inside but we will save that pleasure for next time. We had seen many cathedrals in our time in Europe but we thought this one was one of the most beautiful. We had lunch in the Piazza del Duomo and then walked over to the Galleria Vittoria Emanuele 11 a very trendy high class shopping centre in the piazza. We weren't disappointed as this is a magnificent centre and worthy of all the hype. We couldn't afford to buy anything here but it didn't take away from the enjoyment.
