Parma

Parma was our second week long stay while in Italy and chosen because of it's proximity to cities and towns we wanted to visit in this area. We chose all towns we stayed at outside the majors because Robb and I feel this is where you truly get a picture of the country you are visiting and with Parma we weren't disappointed. Our only disappointment with this stay was our accommodation, not that there was anything wrong with our room but it was 400 metres from the main building and there wasn't any parking here so most of the time we would park outside the main hotel and walk back to our accommodation, this was more nuisance value than anything else. We found a decent coffee shop we visited each morning and a great little supermarket we would purchase our supplies from and walking the streets of Parma at night was just a complete joy. We enjoy eating and particularly enjoyed the food we were served in Italy and on our first day for lunch we visited Bottiglieria Caffe Pietro Pizzeria, everything here was so fresh and simple and our pizzas were as good as any we ordered on our travels. They had a special on for lunch which included a pizza of our choice, drink and a dessert for a very low price. We could sit here and look over all the activity on Piazza Garibaldi and all in all this was a very pleasant experience.
