We called into the Information Centre and picked up a few tourism brochures and a list of parks in the area to stay at and then drove to the discovery park to have a look and we thought it looked ok so decided to stay here. While we weren't travelling with children we thought this would be a great place to stay if we were because there was a great water play area, the camp kitchen was a good size and well equipped and the park was off the road with lots of grass areas. New cabins were being set up when we arrived so there was a bit of disruption but the staff and workers made sure they minimised the inconvenience to us. The amenities were well maintained and easy to access, we would return here and probably will stay here on our next visit.
When we picked up the tourist brochures on the area we noticed this lookout was mentioned as a place worth visiting so we drove up to the lookout and were pleasantly surprised. There are fantastic views over the picturesque valley and the sculptures were interesting. There is also a Pioneer Memorial in the car park. You would not spend a lot of time here so you could squeeze it in somewhere in your day.
