We chose Tanunda to stay at purely because it was in the Barossa Valley and halfway between one spot and another we were travelling to so we had no idea what to expect. When we first drove into Tanunda we were fascinated by the historic buildings and grassy areas so we parked and walked back along the main street and read the history of this quaint little town and had a more thorough look at the buildings. We also visited some of the shops of which there is a very interesting mix and Woellers which is probably one of the best department stores I have ever been in. We only had two nights here so we have earmarked it for a return visit.
