Tullaree Homestead

I have been trying to visit this property for years now, so in the middle of camping at Bear Gully I had the opportunity to join a group for an open day. Tullaree Homestead is the house behind the Lady of the Swamp (Margaret Clements) mystery but putting that aside it is a wonderfully restored example of a time that has passed. The house has been tastefully restored keeping all the original composition as much as possible and when not being very selective with additions. The gardens are a delight to walk around and you can't help being

impressed with the roses on display, the old trees that have been growing for so many years and the fountain at the entrance to the homestead. In later years a pool has been added and I am sure the springy soft lawns would be a new addition but they only added to the beauty of this property. I resisted the urge to take my shoes of to feel this grass underfoot, all up this was a lovely way to spend a relaxed couple of hours. xx
