We had previously visited the miners wall on top of the slag heap surrounding Broken Hill and were quite impressed, these miners who lost their lives could have been forgotten if not for this memorial. Last time we were here the cafe was closed so it was good to see that someone had invested in it, because of the memorial and also because of the magnificent views over Broken Hill. We called in mid afternoon so Robb had afternoon tea and I settled for a wine. Robb wasn't that impressed with his Devonshire tea, what is this trend with only getting one scone for a Devonshire tea, but I enjoyed my wine. We sat at a window table which was very pleasant and we did appreciate that we were a bit late in the afternoon and the staff, who were trying to clean up, were happy to serve us. The menu looked good and we will go back for a meal next time we visit.
