This is a great collection of historical items and they have been well set out in various themes among the eighteen rooms. The gaol itself is in great condition and we noticed they were doing a bit of maintenance out the front so we gather there is some community body who maintains the building. Entry from memory was $4 each, I think that would have been senior rates, but the full cost was not much more which made this exhibit great value for money. Besides the items and equipment on display there were also many excellent photos with lots of information attached to them about Silverton and Broken Hill. At one stage because of the mining boom both towns were thriving with many social institutions and activities. This is a great collection well displayed and must have taken a long time to put together, besides the items belonging to the museum there are quite a few items there on loan from local families.
