We had visited Mildura many times and had visited the attractions more than once but while we had been to Orange World we hadn't taken the tour so we thought this was a good time to do it. We just thought it was a bit of fun but we were pleasantly surprised by this tour. We were greeted at the door and booked in for the tour and then we both received a glass of very fresh orange juice, we took a seat and then the owner came in and welcomed us and then he played a couple of games awarding prizes to the winners and generally being very entertaining. Then we walked out to the sorting shed and our guide explained the process to us from growing to sorting, interesting that the machine they use to sort the oranges is 80 years old and they still haven't found anything better. The train tour was also interesting I didn't realise there were so many types of oranges. And just as a bit of trivia, the Cottees ad 'My Dad Picks The Fruit' was made at Orange World but the advertising company didn't like the look of the orange trees so they hung oranges on the avocado trees that are also grown there. I'm sure Robb isn't giving me the finger, I am sure he is just pointing to the sign above.
