We had read about the cemetery and thought it would be interesting to visit, having said that we often visit cemeteries in towns we are in because they give you a good history of the town. The history of Broome has many references to various Asian groups because of the pearling industry so we thought we should visit here. The past is often a reflection of the future and I have to say this is one of the tidiest cemeteries we have ever visited. We obviously couldn't read the Japanese inscriptions but appreciated the beauty of the headstones. Behind the Japanese cemetery is the Chinese cemetery, not as tidy and well organised as the Japanese one but while we were there we thought we should visit it.
