We had already stayed at Katherine on our way up to Darwin but friends called and said they were staying at Manbulloo Homestead and Caravan Park if we were nearby. We were at Jabiru so it was an easy decision so we took the details of the park and headed off to Katherine. We drove straight to the park, it was a little bit out of the way at Cossack but we all have a GPS these days so it was not a problem. We found the manager friendly and amusing, we explained we had friends here and she gave us a spot right behind them. We were happy with the rates so we drove down and we were pleasantly surprised with the lovely grass area and we had plenty of shade so we didn't bother putting up our awning. We spent the night with our friends, there was plenty of room for us to all gather around and chat so we all cooked our food together and ate together with John and Carol sharing their salads. John and Carol live in our small town and they are part of our Wednesday morning coffee group, we knew we were both travelling up the top end and had been keeping in touch but this was the first opportunity we had where we were close enough to each other to catch up. John and Carol were travelling with John's sister and her husband so we met them and all got along nicely for the night. The amenities were dated but clean but the best part for us was the fact there was a little coffee van in the park so we were able to get our travelers when we moved on in the morning. We would certainly return here and spend a little more time.
