We visited here to fill in time waiting for our tour of Nitmiluk Gorge. It is a small museum set up in various buildings staffed by volunteers. There was a great collection of items on show and the information boards around the walls described the items and the part they played in the history of Katherine. There was a little telegraph office we found very interesting. We thought it was well worth the visit and after we had a look around we visited the little coffee shop in the grounds which is run by a local group who make their own scones and sell Devonshire teas. The ladies who served us were very friendly and happy for a chat and we loved having the chickens pecking around our feet, the ladies didn't though, they kept try to chase them out without much success, it was very amusing.
