After looking around the Replica Elsey Homestead we walked over to the Mataranka Homestead and had a look around and planned on coming back for a beer. From here we followed the track to the Thermal Pools and when I saw them I was so cross I hadn't put my toggies on, so the best I could do is wander down for a paddle. The water was beautiful and talking to a gentleman just leaving the pools who swims there daily while in the area, quite invigorating. The pools are not huge and there were quite a few people swimming on the day we visited, probably had something to do with the high temperature. We stayed for a little while and then walked more slowly back on the track to the homestead admiring the National Park, however, it is a bit disappointing to see the damage to the trees caused by the many bats in the area. I don't know much about bats and whether or not they are natural to this area but I am sure the damage they cause is not good.
