Daly Waters WW11 Airfield

While staying in Daly Waters we decided to visit all the listed attractions of which there weren't that many. We arrived at the airfield and we were the only ones there. This is a fabulous piece of history that has had a minimum amount of attention to make it a tourist attraction. The outside area around the hangar is badly maintained, we believe the runway is still used so that is clear of overgrowth. We walked into the hangar not expecting much from the outside appearance but surprisingly at one stage someone has decided that information boards should be displayed with historic information. We enjoyed walking around reading the boards because neither of us were aware of this part of our history and there were some interesting pieces of equipment on display. I would love to know who is managing this exhibition and I am sure they are struggling to get the support they need but we would have been happy to contribute to some fund to support the development of this airfield. Obviously not the best attraction we have visited but I would recommend a visit if you are in the area.
