We had one day up our sleeves and didn't really have any plans about stop overs for this night when we came across Barkly Homestead. We had heard various reviews about staying here but we liked what we saw and thought we would give it a go. Booking in was easy and we chose a spot that suited us that was a reasonable distance to all amenities. Our site was a good size and the park and amenities seemed clean and well maintained. There is a display of old farming equipment out the front of the homestead and aviaries out the back that we wandered around. We could purchase fuel here and the shop offered a variety of goods. The hotel area was quite big and we chose to sit inside and have a cold beer and listen to the guitarist/singer who was performing. We arrived for Happy Hour but unfortunately we were half an hour early because we had forgotten to change our watches, it didn't matter though we stayed long enough to take advantage of Happy Hour prices. We would definitely return here.
