After our visit to the Barramundi Centre we decided to take a drive around Karumba. We were staying in a caravan park in Karumba town area along the inlet and there is another popular area at Karumba Point, basically around the corner from where we were staying. There are another three caravan parks at the point and a large very busy hotel. We drove to the point to have a look at the parks for accommodation but we were very happy with our original choice because the parks at the point seemed to be small sites and the vans were packed in like sardines, excuse the pun considering this is a fishing town. We had picked up a map when we were at the Visitor Information and we had that with us so we decided to follow the tourist track to have a look at the points of interest. Karumba has an interesting fishing history so most of the points of interest were based around this background, it is not a big town so it did not take us long to have a good look around. We spent three nights in Karumba and we found it very easy to fill in our days.
