We had a spare day to wander Cairns so we thought we would visit the aquarium. We have visited lots of aquariums around the world so thought we were doing more of the same. However, we were pleasantly surprised with this one. The staff at the front counter were very helpful and made sure we knew which way we were going and it wasn't over expensive. There was a great variety of tanks and exhibits in each one. We looked at everything from fish, mammals, frogs, snakes, spiders and my personal favourite the tortoises. We had previously planned our day thinking we would only be here for one hour but this easily extended to two and a half hours but we weren't complaining. If in Cairns put this on your list and allow plenty of time.
