We arrived in Cairns from Port Douglas a bit after lunch time and we were both hungry so we parked on the Esplanade and walked along checking out the many restaurants, cafes and trattorias and chose to stop in at La Pizza Trattoria for a pizza. We ordered a beer each while we went over the menu because it was quite a warm day, Robb chose a seafood pizza and I chose the trattoria special. We both enjoyed our lunch and appreciated the fact they were made in the Italian way. The service was excellent and the staff were most obliging, our pizzas came out quickly but there was such a nice ambiance at the trattoria and the views over the Cairns foreshore were very pleasing so we ordered another beer each and sat for awhile enjoying watching the world go by. After lunch we decided to walk along the foreshore to walk our lunch off. There is a very large water play area and we sat in here for awhile under a tree enjoying watching everyone having fun.
