We stopped at the Emerald Creek Ice Creamery in Mareeba on our way home from our tour of the Atherton Tablelands just because we could. We had sampled many offerings from this fantastic area so thought this was a nice way to finish off. Robb had Pistachio (his personal favourite) and Macadamia and I had Strawberry and Vanilla Bean and they were all good. The person who served us gave us a bit of a spiel about making the ice cream which is all made on site and the fresh products used, she was also very friendly and accommodating. We arrived right on closing but she was more than happy to serve us and servings were a good size and we also thought the prices were good. We sat outside on the verandah to eat our ice creams with another two families who had called in late and we had a bit of a chat with them. Everybody agreed that the ice cream was very good and worth the stop off. This was a great way to finish off our day.
