We both enjoyed Cairns and filled our week in easily with things to see and do. We drove from Cairns to Mena Creek to visit Paronella Park and after that we had a look around Mena Creek and then stopped at the hotel for lunch. Robb had a rump steak and I had the beef and beer pie, both meals were alright but nothing special and priced too high considering the quality and presentation. We found the bar person to be a bit uninterested but the waitress was fantastic and couldn't do enough for us. We sat on the deck to eat which had a great atmosphere, overall we enjoyed the experience and would do it again. Mena Creek is a 90 minute drive from Cairns through a beautiful tropical landscape, so much so that we found the driving here, and other places we visited around Cairns, a good experience in itself.
