We fly out from Townsville soon after lunch on Saturday afternoon and arrive in Cairns in good time and catch a taxi to Discovery Campervans where we are picking up our little Britzy. As a quick note I would like to recommend this company to everyone who plans to hire a campervan or motorhome for their travels, excellent service and friendly staff, nothing was too much trouble. After a quick instruction session on how everything works we drove our van to the local shopping centre to pick up supplies and drive under the canopies with a clearance of 2.5mts which is our clearance and 'bang' 'bang' we manage to dent both air vents on top of the van, damn, the only thing we can think is one of the signs must have been drooping. Not much we can do now so we go shopping and get supplies enough to fit in our small fridge and then take off looking for the nearest caravan park. We search Wikicamps and find Sunland Leisure Park so we drive there to stay for the night so that we can unpack and set up our little Britzy. This park was basic but the amenities were clean, the staff were friendly and helpful and the rates were good, we did keep returning here when we came back to Cairns to stay for all of the above
reasons.
