Snow Fun and Food

We received a phone call through the week from our 2 year old granddaughter inviting us to a day at the snow. Neither Robb nor I are really that impressed with that white stuff but what can you do when especially invited to join in the excursion. So when we left here we had packed all our snow gear and our enthusiasm to have a great day on the mount. We stayed overnight with our children and headed off early (for us) and we were joined by our SIL and his two boys. Our target was Mount Donna Buang, not one of our highest mounts but enough for a bit of a play. There was little snow on our drive up and within 3 kms of the summit we still didn't have much by the roadside but thankfully when we arrived there was a fair covering on the toboggan runs, at least enough for our young children. We stayed long enough for a few slides down the run and for the rain to start before everyone was happy enough to get back to the cars, stripped and in dry clothing. Our mission now was to find somewhere for lunch and we were intrigued to try out Hello Harry in Lilydale, an american hamburger joint that looked like it was worth a visit so that is where we headed. We arrived just after opening and set up a table to suit all of us and sat to study the menu. Between us all we managed to cover a lot of the choices on the menu and everyone enjoyed their food and it all looked very appetising. We have a few sweet tooths in the family who had to try the waffle, ice cream and kit kat dessert and the dessert bomb which was sugar overload. All in all a good day.
